Popping the Cork to Popping the Question

| I had planned to ask my girlfriend, Nicole, to marry me. I had the perfect plan, we were going to have a great day at the lake and finish it off in our cove on the back of the boat where we always have our best talks while looking at the sunset with a bottle of wine. That week, we had severe thunderstorms almost every day. Nicole was also insistent that we had to plant flowers and find a painting for our new house. Her plan was to skip out on the lake that Saturday. To make our day happen, I took off work early planted the flowers and remulched everything. Saturday morning came and she was set on finding a painting so we spent the morning searching without luck. We stopped at the store to pick up some Red Truck and White Truck wine for the lake. So I rushed home to load the boat and as soon as we were ready to leave, it started to rain but we went anyway. Finally, at the lake with a beautiful sunset and a glass of White Truck, I was ready to pop the question when her ADD kicked in and she saw the "worlds largest butterfly." So once I finally got her to refocus, I was able to redirect the conversation and was able to ask Nicole to be my wife. We are getting maried in July and will be serving Red Truck and White Truck at our reception. |
