Starting Off Right

To celebrate my 21st birthday, I decided to go against the grain and instead of going out for a night of drunken revelry (which I would probably never remember, anyway), go out to a nice dinner with my family and best friend. I turned out to be pretty upset with the plans though because my brother was having a particularly nasty phase.

Having recently become vegetarian, he insisted that he wouldn't bother coming to my dinner unless I planned it at a veg-friendly restaurant. My mom supplied me with a list of various places in the area that would let him have some options, and after much fuming and distress, I allowed that a southern-chic place called "Cora" would do the trick. Definitely not my first choice, but it all turned lovely once we cracked the bottle of Red Truck White that the waitress recommended.

I have to say, that was the best way I could have started off my legal drinking years. It's still my favorite white.
