White Truck Califormia White Wine

BODY FEATURES The Chevy Cameo...enviable looks and versatility set it apart just like our White Truck White Wine. Bright and fresh with snappy lime zest, this wine is un-oaked yet highly polished. We’ve blended some of our Sauvignon Blanc with Chardonnay and added a bit of Viognier and Pinot Grigio to make this a crisp, premium wine with grapefruit, gooseberry and orange flavors.

A WELL-CRAFTED BLEND OF: Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Viognier, Pinot Grigio

TRUCK INSPIRED BY: 1958 Chevy Cameo.

Winemaker’s Comments
“This bright, fresh wine exhibits grapefruit, gooseberry, and orange flavors. No oak or malolactic fermentation was used in this blend. White truck rides well with spicy foods or is a delightful treat all by itself.”  Charlie Tsegeletos, Winemaker

Fermentation & Aging
The grapes were de-stemmed and transferred directly to our tank press where the skins and solids were separated from the juice. The juice was then pumped into a temperature controlled stainless steel tank where it settled for twenty-four hours. The juice was then racked to a fermenting tank and a pure strain of wine yeast was added. The juice fermented at low temperatures in stainless steel tanks to preserve the natural flavors and crisp acidity of the grapes.

Vineyard Notes:This bright blend is made from four grape varieties: Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Pinot Grigio, and Viognier. The Sauvignon Blanc, which is from Lake County, contributes the gooseberry character. The Santa Barbara Chardonnay is grown in rich soil with cooling breezes that allow it to retain its acid and develop a lovely citrus character. The Pinot Grigio and Viognier vineyards are planted in the sunny Central Coast creating delicious melon and herb notes.
Vintage Notes:The 2007 growing season was spectacular with Mother Nature doing more than we could’ve asked. It was much drier and cooler overall except for two very notable heat spikes in July and late August. To compensate for lower water availability, the grape vines naturally produced smaller, more tightly clustered grapes resulting in high flavor concentration and excellent quality.
